Harvard University provides students and parents with a number of documents to support the tax filing process, including the 1098-T, 1098-E and 1042-S. More information on each of these documents, along with information on how to obtain yours, can be found below. In addition, if you worked at Harvard, you can access your W-2 by following the instructions here.
Form 1042-S is issued to international undergraduate students that have received scholarships that exceed their tuition and mandatory fees (stipends), and to international graduate students that have received stipends for living expenses. Form 1042-S is a report of tax withheld. The form, available online through Sprintax Calculus, will be issued by mid-March, at which time a notification email will be sent. International graduate students who have questions about the information on this form can contact International Payee Tax Compliance. Students that are U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, or residents for tax purposes will not receive a 1042-S and should follow the instructions below to find their annual stipend earnings.

Form 1098-E reports interest you paid on a student loan during the preceding year. The lenders that carry your student loans must send you a copy of Form 1098-E by January 31st.

1098-T Tax Form
All eligible Harvard Students seeking academic credit who are:
You will not receive a 1098-T if the amount paid for qualified tuition and related expenses in the calendar year is less than or equal to the total scholarships (including third-party sponsor payments) disbursed that year.

** If you did not opt-in to view your form electronically prior to the forms being issued in January, a paper copy should have been mailed to your permanent address. You can opt-in at any time to view your form electronically.
