Per Idaho statute, every person has a right to examine and take a copy of any public records of the state, which includes crime reports as long as the case isn’t under investigation or restricted.
Requests are typically responded to within three business days. If more time is needed to process your request, you will receive notice in writing.
How to request a public record:
Email: mpdrecords@ci.moscow.id.us or
Fax: (208) 883-4020 or
In-person or by USPS mail:
Moscow Police Department
155 Southview Avenue
Moscow, ID 83843
Please note: When requesting records for video/audio files, please be aware that file sizes for such requests are usually too large to be sent to you by email. These records will be copied on a disc and require mailing or pickup. There is a charge associated with the disc and there may be a charge for additional staff time to review and redact protected information if needed.
