For Immediate Release
Uniform Subpoena Form to be Available Statewide from Maryland Judiciary
starting July 1, 2015
(ANNAPOLIS, Md. – June 12, 2015) – On July 1, 2015, subpoenas will look the same throughout Maryland when the Judiciary launches a new uniform subpoena form statewide. Attorneys will be able to access the form electronically and will no longer have to travel to courthouses to request subpoena forms.
The new uniform subpoena was created after rules were adopted by the Court of Appeals (Maryland Rule 2-510, 3-510, 4-265 and 4-266) to provide attorneys with a uniform subpoena form for the Circuit Courts and the District Court. The subpoena form will print with each jurisdiction’s corresponding Circuit Court or District Court seal and Clerk’s signature.
Attorneys will be able to access the forms electronically if they are registered to e-file. Attorneys who are not currently registered e-filers can access the forms by registering using the Judiciary’s e-filing portal, https://maryland.tylertech.cloud. Attorneys do not have to be MDEC users to be able to access the form. People representing themselves in court will continue to be able to obtain paper subpoena forms at their courthouse.
For more information, call the Maryland Judiciary Office of Communications and Public Affairs, 410-260-1488.
